Aligned with the college’s commitment to internationalism, multiculturalism, and community service, our department applies theories and methods from the humanities and social sciences to the study and production of film, new media, journalism, photography, and more. Students have numerous opportunities to produce their own original media projects while engaging with the communities that surround them.
Support the Leola Johnson Lecture Series and Student Projects!
Media and Cultural Studies is raising funds to establish the annual Leola Johnson Lecture in Media and Cultural Studies, honoring Professor Leola Johnson’s nearly 20 years of brilliance, leadership, and dedication to our students. This lecture series will bring cutting-edge thinkers, filmmakers, and media artists to campus to inspire our community through talks, class visits, and student engagement.
We are also raising funds to support ambitious student projects, including Honors films and media creations. Your contributions help us celebrate Leola’s legacy while empowering the next generation of creators and thinkers.
Thank you for your support!
