The Linguistics Department equips students with the tools to learn, study, and appreciate all languages. Currently, over 15 students are engaged in groundbreaking research on queer speech—a project they designed from the ground up. Over the past two years, they’ve collected and analyzed an incredible 51,897,456 data points, uncovering new insights into phonetics and identity.
One student reflects, "This project was my first major step into research. It confirmed my passion for linguistics and inspired me to pursue graduate school."
