Gifts to First-Generation Initiatives contribute to...
The First-Generation Initiatives Program, housed within the Classroom to Career Hub, serves as an academic, career, and community-building and holistic support resource hub for current first-generation students as they navigate campus.
MSU Denver recently earned the First Generation-Serving Institution Designation from the State of Colorado! This recognition underscores our commitment to providing accessible, high-quality education and fostering equitable opportunities for all students we serve. You can learn more about the designation here.
Current Initiatives:
- Providing Balance Due Scholarship funding for first-generation students with a balance due hold on their accounts, so that they can register for the next semester of classes.
- Summer Course Scholarships so that first-generation students can take courses in the summer semester and lessen their time to graduation.
- We are looking to start a Staff & Faculty Fellow program to help us better support our student population and institutionalize our work.
Supporting First-Generation Initiatives means helping first-generation students gain access to additional workshops, contributing to our scholarship fund and supporting important events! Thank you for all you do for our first-generation Roadrunners.
So far, more than 70 donors have helped us raise over $14,000!
THANK YOU!!!
Making your gift now gets us one step closer to reaching our goal of raising $60,000 to provide Roadrunners with the food and financial resources they need to thrive and acheive their goal of earning a degree!

Thanks to the support of our lead sponsor Ent Credit Union and other generous donors, more than $30,000 in matching funds are available!
Each year, many Roadrunners experience challenges like food insecurity and emergency financial situations, making it difficult to persist in their higher education journey.
With the support of donors like you on Roadrunner Tuesday, we can provide MSU Denver students with resources that allow them to achieve their dream of earning a degree and becoming tomorrow's Changemakers!
