Help fund the Colorado Book Awards!
The Colorado Book Awards annually celebrate the accomplishments of Colorado's outstanding authors, editors, illustrators and photographers. Volunteer selectors and judges from across Colorado read submissions to choose finalists and winners for Colorado's best authors each year. The Colorado Book Awards receives hundreds of book submissions and significant press coverage, including CPR and state publications. Due to recent funding cuts in the humanities, Colorado Humanities will be partnering with Dphi to organize the Colorado Book Awards this year!
This year, Colorado Humanities is partnering with MSU Denver and the Denver Project for Humanistic Inquiry to facilitate the Colorado Book Awards:
The book awards in past years have been hosted by Colorado Humanities, whose mission is to inspire the exploration of ideas and appreciation of Colorado's diverse cultural heritage, and to foster a love of reading and books. Our objectives include forging community partnerships statewide to develop and implement meaningful programs that encourage community engagement. The Denver Project for Humanistic Inquiry, or Dphi, enriches Denver’s intellectual and cultural life through programs that reframe perspectives, challenge assumptions and stimulate dialogue about human thought, history, science, art and culture. Dphi organizes roundtable discussions, art exhibits, film screenings, theatrical performances and lectures centered on major issues and questions of abiding human concern.
