Gifts to Roadrunners Men's Soccer 2026 contribute to...

MSU Denver Men's Soccer
In 2025, Men's Soccer had one of its best seasons in program history! We finished with an overall record of 10-5-5 and 7-2-1 in RMAC play, which made us Co-Champions of the regular season. This was the program's second regular season championship ever, with the first coming in 2007.
We won our RMAC Semifinal 1-0 over Regis with a thrilling half-field goal coming from Senior Phillie Villapudua. We came up short in the RMAC final, losing 3-2 to UCCS, and narrowly missed out on making the NCAA tournament. Eleven seniors made an incredible impact on the men’s soccer program, leaving opportunities for the returning student-athletes in 2026.
What the team accomplished this year:
- Nick McNeil was the RMAC GK of the Year, 1st team all conference, 1st team all academic and 2nd team all region.
- Charlie Matsumoto was 2nd team all conference, 1st team all academic and 2nd team all region
- Adan Perez was 2nd team all-conference and 2nd team all-region.
- Brendan O'Toole, Phillie Villapudua and Rob Sumner were all conference honorable mention
- RMAC Coach/Staff of the Year.
- First RMAC regular-season title since 2007 (2nd regular-season title overall).
- First RMAC tournament final appearance since 2011.
- First RMAC tournament win since 201.
- Seventeen different goal scorers on the year.
- Three last-minute goals
- Scored 36 goals in 20 games.
- Three ranked match-up ties.
- Win at #11 CSU Pueblo. Scored the game-winning goal with 18 seconds remaining, the 2nd latest game winner in program history.
- Ranked #22 in the last regular season United Soccer Coaches poll.
- Ranked #3 in the last regular season United Soccer Coaches regional poll.
The student athletes are working just as hard in the classroom, as our team GPA for the fall semester was a 3.26. We had four student-athletes achieve a 4.0 GPA, and 17 received a 3.5 GPA or better.
