Women in Cybersecurity (WICYS)
The mission of the MSU WiCyS Student Chapter is to build a strong and inclusive community within Metropolitan State University of Denver that promotes women’s education, participation and leadership in the field of cybersecurity.

Our future goals include:

• Decreasing the gender disparity in cybersecurity by encouraging more women to explore, study and pursue careers in the field.
• Providing education, mentorship and networking support to students through the MSU WiCyS community.
• Hosting hands-on workshops, certification study groups and cybersecurity competitions to equip students with real-world skills and experience.
• Collaborating with industry professionals, alumni and organizations to create internship and job opportunities for students.
• Advocating for diversity and inclusion in cybersecurity by increasing awareness and fostering a supportive environment.
• Engaging with the broader cybersecurity community through outreach programs, conferences and collaborative projects that encourage learning and innovation.
• Promoting and recruiting women in the cybersecurity workforce through the Academic Institution.
  

By working toward these goals, we strive to empower students, strengthen their technical abilities and create a lasting impact in the cybersecurity industry.

Your Support
With the funds we raise, we aim to host more events and provide essential resources to enhance these experiences. Some of the events we are planning include cybersecurity workshops, study groups for certifications, guest speaker sessions, Hack the Future events and collaborative projects that foster learning and innovation.
