Gifts to Aerobatics Team 2026 contribute to...

Who Are We:
We are the MSU Denver Aerobatics Team, one of three collegiate aerobatics teams coordinated and run primarily by motivated students and supported by the university. This is a rare opportunity for thrill seekers looking to advance their skills to the next level, making us safer and more capable pilots. We strive to excel in competition aerobatics by learning how to control aircraft in extreme and unusual attitudes.
While many think we spend most of our time in the air, we also find it important to support the community by volunteering at events all across the nation. EAA Airventure in Oshkosh, Wisconsin is by far our biggest event where we give back to our supporters through volunteer work. We are also incredibly involved with our local community at places such as Wings Over The Rockies at Centennial Airport where we strive to share our love and passion for aviation.
What Is Competition Aerobatics:
A sport where pilots demonstrate their flying skills through complex and precise maneuvers. Examples of these maneuvers are loops, spins, and rolls. It involves ground-based judging of the pilots performing aerobatic sequences, which can include both single engine aircraft and gliders. Competitions are sanctioned by organizations like the International Aerobatic Club (IAC) and are divided into categories based on the complexity of the maneuvers performed, this includes Primary, Sportsman, Intermediate, Advanced, and Unlimited.
Our Accomplishments:
- Collegiate Champions 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024
- South Central Primary Champions 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021
- South Central Sportsman Champions 2018
The Aircraft:
The GB1 Gamebird was designed and manufactured here in the United States by Game Aerospace in Bentonville, Arkansas. An aircraft capable of competing at the highest level, built to withstand the most extreme situations and certified up to +/- 10 Gs. Its tandem seating configuration allows for the student in the front to see the entire sight picture, allowing for maximum awareness at all times.
As the aircraft is an incredible piece of machinery, giving students the maximum value of training, it is extremely expensive to operate. Students pay the bare hourly minimum to keep the Gamebird flying for their operations. To financially operate this aircraft it costs upwards of $107,000 annually. This includes routine maintenance, insurance, gas, and engine reserve.
How You Can Support Us:
Help support our mission as we continue to create safer and more experienced student pilots through aerobatics training and competitions. You can partner with us to keep the dream alive and our aircraft flying by contributing to our team through generous donations.
