MSU Denver’s Center for Entrepreneurship has three guiding principles: to provide an outstanding education to our students that prepares them to launch businesses; to provide resources to the community that increase economic develop by supporting entrepreneurs; and to increase access to entrepreneurship education across all university disciplines.

What We’re Doing
One of our newest initiatives is creating marketplaces where our student entrepreneurs can sell their products. So many of our students support themselves through small businesses and side hustles. We know students are selling everything from homemade crocheted stuffed animals, to hand poured candles, to grief support boxes, to body washes and shampoos for extra stinky people (yes, that’s real), to custom t-shirts, to 3-D printed cups and custom figurines, to handblown glass and so many other fun, useful, and innovative products. Their biggest challenge can be finding a market for these products and that’s where we think we can leverage the support of our community to help. Our plan is to create an online marketplace and in-person on campus pop-up shops that will only sell products made by MSU Denver students. Doing so will serve to boost student sales or maybe give them the confidence to make their first sale. It will bring attention to their businesses and give them a place to experiment with new products in a low-risk environment. Sales are the lifeblood of any business and we think these marketplaces are a great way for students to bring their concepts to life and help them flourish.

How Your Donation Will Help
The first step building these marketplaces is conducting a feasibility study that will discover how many of our incredible students are currently selling products, where they're selling them, and what the best way to get the word out about our new marketplaces is. With that information in hand, we’ll be able to design marketplaces that best meet the needs of our students’ businesses. The cost of that feasibility study is $1,500 and that's why we're asking for your support. Help us help our students launch and grow their businesses today!
