- The arts contribute $16.8 billion to our state’s economy, with $2.6 billion annually in the Denver metro area alone.
- Employment in Colorado’s creative industries grew by 25% between 2010 and 2019, with 172,884 people employed in creative occupations throughout the state.
- MSU’s Department of Art graduates an average of 77 majors each year who will go on to contribute their talents to our state’s creative economy
At MSU Denver our dream is to educate the future creative leaders, educators, innovators, and entrepreneurs of Colorado but we need your help.
Economic, food, and housing insecurity are real barriers to our students’ success. Often, they must make hard choices between funding their education and their basic needs, struggling to finish their degrees and achieve their professional goals. Our Careers in the Arts Scholarship provides tuition funding each year to help students realize their dreams. This year we are hoping to increase the amount we offer and double the number of recipients.
With the economic pressures our students face they are often unable to afford the materials they need to make their artistic vision a reality.
Donations to the Art Department General Fund will go directly to fund our new Access Creativity Awards, which provide graduating seniors with funding to help bring their creative vision to life, increasing their chance of professional success post-graduation.
With this year’s Day of Giving Campaign, we are seeking to raise $5000 to double our number of Careers in the Arts recipients and fund 4 senior capstone projects between the Fall and Spring 2025-2026. We need your help to support access to art for all in Colorado. Are you ready to become a patron?
