Gifts to First-Generation Initiatives 2025 contribute to...

The First-Generation Initiatives at MSU Denver, part of the Classroom to Career Hub, supports First-Generation students academically, career-wise, and holistically. With 59.7% of the student population being First-Generation, this program aims to increase their retention and graduation rates by building community, advocating, educating, and developing inclusive policies and programs.
We invite you to support this mission by donating during MSU Denver Day of Giving. Your donation will fund workshops and support our bi-annual First-Generation graduation ceremonies. These efforts help First-Generation students overcome unique challenges and succeed.
Student Testimony
“Being a first- generation student is more than just attending college- it is about breaking barriers, redefining possibilities, and paving the way for future generations. The First-Generation initiative at MSU Denver provides the guidance, resources, mentorship, and community that help students like me turn challenges into opportunities. This program empowers us to dream bigger, push forward despite obstacles, and build a future that once seemed out of reach. It reminds us that we are not alone, and with the right support, we can achieve anything.”
-Madina Amiri, Steering Board Member and First-Generation student
