The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences is dedicated to providing students with hands-on learning opportunities that are crucial for their academic and professional development. Field courses offer invaluable experiences where students can apply classroom knowledge to real-world situations, conduct research, and gain practical skills that are essential for their future careers. However, the costs associated with these field experiences can be a significant barrier for many students.
We are launching this fundraising campaign to ensure that all students, regardless of their financial background, have the opportunity to participate in our transformative field courses. Our goal is to raise $2500 to help offset the costs of travel, accommodations, and supplies. These funds will support activities such as geologic mapping, observation, and analysis, as well as severe weather observations in meteorology. Your generous support will make these field experiences accessible to everyone. Together, we can make a difference in educating a new generation of scientists who are well-prepared to tackle the pressing environmental challenges of our time.
