Study Abroad in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology (CJC)
MSU Denver’s Department of CJC offers short-term faculty-led study abroad programs that take place during fall or spring breaks. These trips provide students with opportunities to learn about both local and international criminal justice systems, including policing, prosecution, correction, courts, cybersecurity, and international cooperation. Students also have the opportunity to enrich their academic perspectives by participating in lectures with partnering universities, depending on the location. Furthermore, students meet and interact with local people and visit cultural and historic sites in each destination. Study abroad trips run once an academic year, and locations include London (the UK), The Hague (Netherlands), Seoul (South Korea), and soon Budapest (Hungary). With Introduction to Criminal Justice System (CJC 1010) as the only pre-requisite, all students at MSU Denver can participate in our study abroad programs.
Student Impact
Studying abroad trips help students become exposed to the world, immersed in new cultures, and experience innovative approaches in public safety and security with CJC faculty members and international experts. Students have the chance to compare criminal justice systems across the globe, gain valuable knowledge, and build cross-cultural skills. Your donation helps reduce the overall cost of the trip, which will lower the barrier for students’ international travel and open the door for more students to participate in the experience!
