Women in Aviation
We are the Metropolitan State University of Denver's Collegiate Chapter of Women in Aviation International—the largest student organization within the MSU Denver Aviation Department. Our diverse, hardworking, and goal-oriented members are committed to fostering equality, encouragement, and empowerment within the aviation industry. We recognize that starting college and entering a male-dominated field can be intimidating, and our organization aims to connect and inspire new members by offering a welcoming community where students can form lifelong friendships, find mentorship, and gain confidence as they pursue their aviation careers.
Our chapter hosts monthly meetings to keep students engaged through educational workshops, networking opportunities, and social activities. We believe that building a strong support system is essential for success in aviation, and we strive to provide our members with the tools, resources, and encouragement they need to achieve their career goals. Through volunteering, networking, and community outreach, we contribute to the global effort of making aviation a more inclusive and supportive industry.
Your Support
The MSU Denver WAI Chapter has dedicated countless hours to networking and fundraising to offer our members tailored events, distinguished speaker series, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. Since our founding in 2019, we have experienced a 500% increase in membership, a testament to the passion and commitment of our members. Our events aim to foster professionalism, humility, and camaraderie, from participating in MSU Denver's career symposium to honoring aviation history through our annual Memorial Day flag placement at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
Two of our most significant events are Girls in Aviation Day and the Women in Aviation International Annual Conference. Girls in Aviation Day is more than a celebration; it is an inspiring experience for young women, encouraging them to explore careers in STEM fields, particularly aviation, aeronautics, and space. Our hands-on workshops, informational sessions, and mentorship opportunities show young girls that they are not only capable of succeeding in aviation but that they have a community of women supporting them every step of the way. Our chapter aspires to host one of these impactful events in the future to further inspire the next generation of aviators.
The Women in Aviation International Annual Conference is a premier event that brings together professionals, students, and aviation enthusiasts from around the world. This conference offers unparalleled networking opportunities, professional development sessions, and exposure to potential employers. Attendees gain valuable insights into career advancement, leadership, and innovation within the industry. For many, the WAI Conference is where aspirations take flight, and lifelong connections are made.
Your financial support will help us cover expenses related to these events, as well as unforeseen costs associated with organizing enriching experiences for our members. Additional funds will allow us to provide scholarships for books, supplies, and other career-related expenses, ensuring that our chapter continues to thrive and support its members for years to come.
We are deeply grateful for any support you can provide. Your contributions help us foster the next generation of aviation professionals and create a lasting impact within the MSU Denver community and beyond. Join us in soaring to new heights!
