About

This 2-week J-Term Study Abroad program is led by Dr. Kedrick Perry and designed in partnership with Ibero-American University to educate and empower undergraduates who are first-generation, underrepresented, low-income, and/or those who have never traveled abroad before with an international social justice experience in Mexico City. The objective is to increase the global leadership ability of these students as well as to introduce them to social justice movements in Mexico City that mirror our own in New Orleans. Program participants will develop the following:

  • Students will demonstrate a greater understanding of social justice and economic empowerment movements on a global scale.
  • Students will develop a greater understanding of what social and environmental justice looks like in a neighboring country.
  • Students will develop a greater understanding and appreciation of the Spanish language.
