The LMU mission to serve the underserved. Approximately 20 LMU-DCOM faculty physicians and students are traveling to the Dominican Republic to provide medical care to impoverished populations. The group is volunteering their time over spring break 2025. Medical care will be provided via clinics. The services offered during this trip will be general medicine, pediatrics, women's health, and house calls. The group will be partnering with the International Medical Alliance of Tennessee (IMA), which works in the area to provide the care and is ran by Dorothy Davison and her husband, Dr. Betterton. Several students, along with Dr. Danielle Darter, traveled previously in July 2022, March 2023, and March 2024 and were able to provide care to over 1,000+ individuals. We are requesting help with raising funds to cover expenses of medical supplies and travel expenses for the students which would be desperately needed for the upcoming medical mission trip.
