The Lewis Athletics Hall of Fame in Neil Carey Arena is not only the place where we celebrate the best of Lewis Athletics, but it is also where we welcome every single one of our visitors throughout the year. Updating our Hall of Fame shows that we take pride not only in our athletes or athletics, but also in our entire university. With your support of this project, Lewis Athletics will continue to move forward in creating a space at Neil Carey Arena that’s at the pinnacle of Division II athletics. When you walk upstairs and see the updated space (design in photo above), you will see that Lewis is always flying towards the future while still honoring its past.
"Our Athletic Hall of Fame is more than just a display of past achievements—it’s a tribute to the legacy of the former Flyers who have shaped our athletic program and an inspiration for future generations. Renovating this space allows us to properly honor our history while creating an engaging experience that connects alumni, student-athletes, and fans to our tradition of excellence."
John Ashaolu, Assistant Vice President for Athletics
“When Lorelee told me that I was going to be added to the Lewis Hall of fame, it gave my family and I much excitement and gratitude for being acknowledged! It also brought back many fond memories from the amazing teams I played on while at Lewis, and how I wouldn't have received such an honor without any of my teammates. Updating this space will ensure that not only current inductee’s legacies, but hopefully more of my teammates will be remembered for years to come in the Lewis Hall of Fame!”
Stephanie (Sagat) Kaegebein ’10 – Hall of Fame Class of 2024
“Athletics is the front porch of every university and college, and the Recreation Center at Lewis University is the most visited building on campus. The current Hall of Fame wall and overall decor of the common areas of the Athletics Department don't do justice to the storied tradition and successes of our programs through the years. The Hall of Fame is the ultimate honor an athlete can achieve at the end of their career, and this new shrine will be worthy of the people that it is meant to honor.”
Dana Schwarting, Head Coach – Flyers Track & Field
So let’s crank it up, Flyer fans, and show our Flyer pride with a pitch perfect tribute to best of the best!
