The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at Lehigh University is part of a national nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women to achieve their full potential in engineering and technology. Founded at Lehigh in 1975, our chapter supports women in STEM through a three-pillar system: outreach, professional development, and social connection.
Our goals are to inspire the next generation of engineers, prepare our members for successful careers, and foster a strong, supportive community on campus. Each year, we host CHOICES, an outreach event that brings middle school girls to Lehigh for hands-on STEM activities. We also provide professional development opportunities such as résumé workshops, networking events with local engineering companies, and our annual Women and Non-Binary in STEM Dinner. Social events, like picnics, movie nights, and student-led activities, help strengthen bonds among Lehigh’s women engineers.
Gifts to this campaign will have a direct impact. Your support will allow us to expand outreach programs, bring in high-profile speakers, and most importantly, provide assistance for members to attend the National SWE Conference. This conference connects students to one of the largest engineering career fairs in the country, offering unparalleled opportunities for recruiting, internships, and full-time job placement.
Together, with your support, SWE at Lehigh can continue to empower women in engineering, strengthen our community, and increase representation in STEM.
