Lehigh Underwater Robotics (LUR) is a student-led robotics organization aimed at exploring engineering at greater depths.
Our primary objective is to prepare a drone for the international RoboSub competition over the summer by designing it such that it's capable of autonomous navigation, image recognition, basic dexterity, targeting underwater signals, and absolute positioning for emersion. Whether it be software, electrical, mechanical, or even business, LUR strives to build practical engineering and collaborative skills that tie classroom theory to relevant professional experience. This year, we plan to design a new frame and layout for the motors, consolidate the electronics into smaller, custom circuit boards, and integrate a Doppler velocity logger (DVL) for positioning. All contributions will allow students flexibility to explore their creativity and make meaningful advances in underwater design.
