Lawrence Tech has partnered with five Detroit and Southfield high schools to identify promising students in areas
with barriers to higher education. Students in this program will be dually-enrolled during their junior and senior
years of high school, taking transferable credits in algebra, science, pre-calculus, biology and more.
They will also be enrolled in cohorts of four; each student will have a designated sponsor and dedicated LTU
mentor, and attend bi-weekly meetings and/or tutoring sessions. An annual scholarship retreat with the student’s
sponsor and mentor along with specialized concentrations and custom-designed academic plans will increase the
chances for success.
Students will also serve as peer-to-peer mentors for subsequent cohorts, developing crucial leadership skills;
guaranteed internships, high-level research experience, and career placement will be provided by the program’s
dedicated network.
The scholarship is named after Dr. Richard Marburger, a visionary leader who served as LTU’s president from 1977-
93. He championed equal access for all students and laid the groundwork for significant investment in our
scholarship endowments.
Your gift provides the essential funding to fully resource this life-changing program.
