Need: Increasing Access for All
The summer internship stipend program, which was established in 2014, makes possible internship opportunities that might otherwise be cost-prohibitive for students as they grow their industry experience and build their professional networks.
"I would not have been able to pursue this unpaid internship opportunity if it weren’t for the stipend program," says Meaghan Csongor '24, a marketing major who devised organic and paid social media campaigns and learned how to optimize their performance at GOAT Social Media. Following her summer internship, she remained with the company as a part-time employee into the fall semester.
When choosing between two qualified candidates, employers tend to select the person who has completed internships. Most Lasell students complete more than one internship, ensuring that they gain valuable skills and are career ready upon graduation.
