Dr. Judith E. B. Harmon Scholarship

This campaign ends on August 1 at 01:00PM EDT

This special scholarship, to be awarded for the first time to an black student in Fall 2019, will memorialize Dr. Judith E. B. Harmon, a beloved Lake Forest College faculty member in the 1980s and 1990s who played an integral role in the development of the African American Studies Program at Lake Forest College. She was a member of the faculty from 1988 to 1995. As a gifted teacher, caring mentor, loving mother, and advocate for black students on campus, she left an indelible impression on everyone she met.

Our goal is to fully fund the scholarship with $50,000+ by August 1, 2019 so it can be awarded at Homecoming 2019.

We will be holding a Black Alumni reunion at Homecoming which will include a social, connection with our scholarship recipient and other black student groups, and more. It will be on campus the weekend of the October 4-5, 2019. More details to come.
