About

This special scholarship, to be awarded for the first time to an black student in Spring 2020, will memorialize Dr. Judith E. B. Harmon, a beloved Lake Forest College faculty member in the 1980s and 1990s who played an integral role in the development of the African American Studies Program at Lake Forest College. She was a member of the faculty from 1988 to 1995. As a gifted teacher, caring mentor, loving mother, and advocate for black students on campus, she left an indelible impression on everyone she met.

Our goal is to fully fund the scholarship with $50,000+ by December 31, 2019.
