Helping Paws Emergency Fund

How can you help the Helping Paws Emergency Fund?

The Helping Paws Emergency Fund was established for KU students who face an emergency or financial crisis that affects their ability to be a successful student. This fund supports students who are experiencing an unforeseen temporary financial crisis due to accidents, illness, death of a family member, fire, or other unplanned circumstances with no expectation of repayment.

Examples of Covered Expenses:

• Food or gas
• Rent, utilities, and essential household expenses
• Medication/medical issues
• Essential belongings (lost due to a disaster or crime)
• Transportation expenses related to attendance
• Educational supplies
• Other expenses, considered on a case by case basis

The Helping Paws Emergency fund has helped students stay in and concentrate on school since 2018.
