Newman Council

The Newman Council is the Catholic Student Organization of Kutztown University. We recently celebrated our 90th anniversary of the Newman Council at KU. Since its founding, our mission has been simple: to serve the students, faculty, and staff of the university community.

Over the decades, we have provided a welcoming presence on campus, offering resources for new students, a place to connect with others, and opportunities to grow through involvement. At the heart of our work is our building located in the center of campus. Open to all students, it serves as a gathering space to study, relax, and find support.

Our history reflects a commitment to building community and fostering hospitality, rooted in Catholic tradition but open to every member of the university. As we celebrate 90 years, we continue to build that legacy, seeking new ways to support and accompany those who walk through our doors.

We are grateful for the generations of students and staff who have shaped this organization, and we look forward to continuing this mission of service for years to come.

Our purpose for participating in the 1866 Challenge is to raise money to send undergraduate students to the SEEK '27 National Catholic College Student Conference in January of 2027. The cost per student is $700 and we are engaging in many fundraising initiatives to make this goal a reality. These students are the future, and we believe in supporting and encouraging them. Thank you in advance for your support. God Bless You.
