Let’s return Kalamazoo College Men’s Soccer to the top of the MIAA!
Many of us know what this program is capable of and have experienced great success while here as a Hornet. My mission is to make sure every class I coach has the same experience that we had as a Men’s Soccer player.
How will we accomplish this?
We need top staff to be able to help the current student-athletes develop both on and off the field. I have put together an unbelievable group of coaches to help me. Ty Usiak is my lead assistant coach, and he comes after completing his playing career at Western Michigan University. He will work primarily with the attacking players on the roster and will be a great resource for the team. My goalie coach is Carl Whitehouse who I have worked with for many years. I can honestly say I have never worked with or met a better GK trainer. We are fortunate to have him and he’s excited to get going! Scott Haas has agreed to take the role of Director of Soccer Operations. He will help in our camp program, travel needs, recruiting and on the field coaching. Scott is an experienced high school soccer coach and teacher that has a passion for the game. Lastly, we have brought on two social media coordinators to make our accounts fresh and timely with the updates they bring our fans, alums and prospective student-athletes. The current team is very excited to have a highly professional, dedicated staff to work with on a daily basis.
The second part of the plan is to attract the top student-athletes in the Midwest region. We are off and running on this as we have 10 committed future Hornets. The staff and I are hard at work filling our last 6 spots for the 2025 roster. These newcomers will complement our current roster and transform us into being one of the top rosters in the MIAA and the nation.
Now these big goals will take everyone’s support to accomplish, and this is where the Men’s Soccer alumni and friends of the program will make the biggest impact on our goal of being THE top team in the MIAA and a National Championship contender. We need your help in reaching our goal of $50,000 for this Giving Day! This is a lofty goal, it is more than double what was pledged last year, but I know the pride we have in our program and how much we want to see it back on top. With your donation we will do the following:
- Update the camera and sound system at the field to improve the game day experience for fans and players.
- Add a Scorer's Table/Tent at the center line to provide a more professional feel on game day.
- Wrap the locker room with images of our great history as a program. We will highlight our 12 MIAA Championships, 7 NCAA tournament teams, and 10 All Americans. All our current and future Hornets will understand the proud tradition of the jersey they wear.
- Help fund our trip to San Antonio, TX to play nationally ranked Trinity and Southwest in the Trinity Tournament this September.
- Continue to attract and retain top assistant coaching talent to compete for MIAA and National Championships.
Thanks for your participation and your support. Please mark your calendar for our Alumni Game this spring Saturday, May 17th at 2:30pm. We will follow this event with a social at a location to be determined. Let’s all plan on getting together and celebrating our goal of raising $50,000!
It’s a great day to be a Hornet!
