Last year we raised over $43,000 on Hornet Athletics Giving Day. We are hoping to match or exceed that amount in 2025!
Kalamazoo College Baseball is in the biggest stretch of success in the history of our program. Over the past five seasons, Kalamazoo has had the 2nd highest winning percentage of any four-year college baseball team, any division, in the state of Michigan. Over the same time period, we are in the top 10% of winning percentage in Division III, amongst nearly 400 programs.
The program celebrated back-to-back regular season championships, the first time that has been done since 1920, while also notching the program’s third 30 win season, along with the first back to back 30 win season in program history. That success enabled us to be ranked in the Top 25 poll for five weeks, the first time in school history. Along with this, we have a streak of winning a championship in three straight years (2022 MIAA Tournament Champions).
Beyond the team’s success, we had another All-Region player and six All-Conference players. Even with all that success on the field, we continued to be strong in the classroom and had the second Academic All-American in program history. I am extremely proud of what we have built and the development that is happening on and off the field. Momentum continues to surge behind our program and we are not content with where we are. We are working hard to push the program and our vision forward.
I am entering my thirteenth season as the head baseball coach. Over that time, we have worked tirelessly to instill a culture of excellence around our program. In doing this we have been able to:
- Win the program’s 1st NCAA Tournament Game.
- Ranked in the Top 25 for 5 weeksl first time in program history.
- Advanced to the program’s 1st NCAA Regional in 2016; Returned in 2022.
- Won back to back MIAA regular season championships; first time since 1920.
- Won the MIAA regular season championship in 2023; the first since 1927.
- Three straight championships (2022, 2023, 2024).
- Back to back 30 win seasons; first time in program history.
- Qualified for the MIAA Tournament in nine of the last ten eligible seasons (COVID-19 Implications).
- Winning seasons in eight of the last nine eligible season (COVID-19 Implications).
- 20+ win seasons in eight of the last nine eligible season (COVID-19 Implications).
- One of only two MIAA programs to win 30 games in a season multiple times.
- Four All-Americans and five professional signings.
- Only baseball program in MIAA history to be Academic All-MIAA seven seasons in row.
Energy is flowing around our program given the heights our program has reached. As we set our sights even higher, we look to you to support the baseball program with a gift on Hornet Athletics Giving Day. We are where we're at as a program due to the incredible assistance we have received from alumni, family and friends. Your generosity will provide opportunities for our program to continue to improve and grow in our development and student-athlete experience.
Please consider making a gift today! With your help, we will be able to provide a tremendous experience for our players and help to continue to push our program to new heights.
