About

Code 4 Community is raising funds to support the events, programs, and opportunities that help students gain real-world experience, build technical and professional skills, and grow within a strong tech community at John Carroll University.

Donations will directly support the following initiatives:

Workshops and Skill-Building Events
We host workshops to help students learn the skills they need to successfully land their tech internships, ventures, or goals. In the past, we have hosted workshops on how to effectively use GitHub, coding projects, portfolios, LinkedIn, resumes, and technical interview preparation. Funds help provide more resources and opportunities for immersive experiences to run these workshops effectively.

Career and Networking Events
We organize panels with alumni and industry professionals, internship and career preparation events, and networking opportunities that connect students with mentors and professionals in the field. Additionally, we provide students with an entire database of internship opportunities that are updated live.

Hackathons and Innovation Events
We encourage students to participate in hackathons and innovation challenges inside and outside of JCU where they build real projects, collaborate in teams, and gain hands-on experience. Funds help support registration, transportation, and event preparation workshops.

Community Study Tables and Project Nights
We host collaborative study tables and coding project nights where students work together on homework, personal projects, internship applications, and technical skills in a supportive environment.

Guest Speakers and Collaborative Events
Funding allows us to invite alumni, professionals, speakers, and other departments to host collaborative events that expose students to different career paths, innovations, and ideas in technology, entrepreneurship, and data science.

We are not just raising funds for events, we are raising funds to strengthen students' tech education at JCU, create opportunities, build confidence, develop skills, and support the next generation of innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders in technology.
