Thank you for supporting JCU's Department of History during Day of Giving. This year, we are asking for support for the annual History Department Awards and Alums banquet AND a memorial tree for our recently-deceased colleague, professor, and friend, Dr. Roger Purdy

Donations will defray the costs of the banquet so that our History majors and minors can attend an event that provides networking opportunities with alums, recognition of junior and senior history major accomplishments, and builds community among our majors and graduates.

Additionally--especially important this year--donations will defray the cost of planting a tree on campus as part of a commemoration of Dr. Roger Purdy's life and many contributions to JCU, especially in his fostering of an understanding of East Asian culture and history for our undergrads.
