About

In the Department of Exercise Science and Sports Leadership, we see how a John Carroll education impacts each student we help on a daily basis. Gifts from this year's Day of Giving will go towards the new exercise physiology and biomechanics labs being constructed in the Tony DeCarlo Student Recreation Center.

Our plans include two, new approximately 1200 square foot labs:

Exercise Physiology and Fitness Testing and
Biomechanics and Strength and Conditioning

In addition to our currently existing equipment, planned new equipment for the Exercise Physiology lab includes an underwater weighing tank, a Biodex isodynometer, a BodPod, new cycle ergometers and treadmill, and additional metabolic testing equipment. New equipment for the Biomechanics lab includes force plates, a Vicon motion analysis system, Biopac data acquisition system, electromyography testing, and a Zybec athletic measuring system with advanced laser timing.
