The John Carroll University Department of Philosophy is seeking support for our "Philosophy4Kidz" Internship Program. This program sends JCU undergrad students to local schools to create philosophy discussions with younger students.
This year, the Philosophy4Kidz Internship Program has placed 11 interns in local schools throughout the community to help with this initiative. We are excited to partner with two new schools this year: The Walsh Academy and Ruffing Montessori. Four of our JCU interns working at these two schools wish to bring their young students to JCU's campus at the end of the semester for a "Taste of College" philosophy symposium.
The "Taste of College" symposium will feature a child-friendly philosophy lecture, buffet lunch, and campus tour. Philosophy interns, majors, and faculty members will be interacting with the school-aged students throughout the day. The culminating event of the day is a presentation of philosophy magazines students developed all semester. We believe this new initiative helps to raise community awareness about JCU's Jesuit commitment to critical thinking and a love of learning.
Thank you for considering supporting the Philosophy4Kidz Internship Program with your gift.
