The Academic Success Center helps students navigate their academic journey by: advising students and supporting faculty advisors, connecting students to campus resources, developing students' academic skills along with coordinating communicating and improving advising processes.
One of the key elements of our team is the Peer Success Advisor (PSA) program. Our student staff provides students with one-on-one academic coaching on skills such as time management, study skills, and making connections to resources from the student perspective. Inspired by best practices of nationally recognized institutions, we seek funding to certify our Peer Success Advisor program in order to:
- Gain credibility for our student staff
- Boost confidence in our program for prospective students
- Equip our student employees with transferable skills for their careers
- Increase JCU's competitive edge as we strive for excellence
