Gifts to Sorensen Center for International Peace and Justice contribute to...
The Sorensen Center prepares students to leverage the diversity of their knowledge and experiences to advance peace and justice in New York City, across the United States, and around the world.
Originally established at CUNY School of Law in 2014, the Center moved to Hunter College in 2025. Over our first decade, the Center's fellowship program enabled more than 200 CUNY students to access internships and make an impact on critical issues of peace and justice in 18 countries, 12 states, and in all five boroughs of New York City. In 2026, we launched a new fellowship program for Hunter undergraduates, open to students from any discipline interested in issues of peace and justice.
This Giving Day, help us Bridge the Future and provide Hunter College students eager to change the world with opportunities and tools to make an impact, including access to unique internships, special experiences with the United Nations, and mentorship from social justice practitioners.
The inspiration for the Sorensen Center is the life and career of the late Ted Sorensen, who made an indelible mark nationally and internationally through a career of public service, including as advisor and speechwriter to President John F. Kennedy.
