Gifts to McNulty Scholars contribute to...
The McNulty Scholars Program aims to support undergraduate women/ women-identified students, who are motivated to complete research in science and math and aspire to leadership positions across industry and academia.
The program is looking to expand programming, including implementing an overnight retreat in the summer and expanding conference attendance to include international conferences. As the program accepts students from all STEM disciplines, students are learning the importance of collaboration and understanding how their research can be studied in more than once STEM discipline. This, however means that scholars are not always in the same classes and miss out on opportunities to continue in-depth conversations that we have in our workshops.
For that reason, we are looking to include a summer retreat in our program which would allow the scholars to connect across disciplines, post-graduation interests, and see each other as a resource as they are completing their undergraduate degree. Additionally, attending and presenting at discipline specific conferences are a program requirement. For students in specialized or smaller disciplines, opportunities are only limited to international conferences with few or no regional opportunities to participate.
Your support would help strengthen an interdisciplinary community of emerging STEM STEM scholars by creating opportunities for collaboration, meaningful mentorship, and professional growth through a summer retreat and ensure all students have an equitable access to present their research at international conferences.
