Office of the Arts

The Office of the Arts:

• Sets up free admission at museums, and subsidizes tickets to theater, dance, and music events available to all Hunter students
• Brings world-renowned artists (like National Theatre Director Indhu Rubasingham), often from working class backgrounds, to campus to share wisdom, advise students, and model careers
• Funds paid internships at over 50 arts organizations across the city
• Distributes financial support to all Hunter arts departments
• Engages Hunter arts students with career advice
• Connects the Hunter student arts community with regular meet-ups and interdisciplinary projects
• Engages NYC artists and arts institutions to make the NYC arts ecosystem more equitable and accessible, notably at two events with hundreds of attendees: We the People: A Forum on Working Class Artists in America and We the People: An Assembly of New York Artists (more at workingclassartists.org)
