On December 11 - 21 Howard University College of Dentistry students will travel to Mysuru, India to promote a ChewFreeFuture.
ChewFreeFuture is a Howard University College of Dentistry–led oral cancer prevention initiative focused on stopping oral cancer before it starts through education, early intervention, and community engagement.
Globally, the widespread use of chewing tobacco and areca nut products has created an oral cancer epidemic—one that disproportionately affects children and young people who are exposed early.
Led by Howard University College of Dentistry faculty and students, the program empowers children and communities with knowledge and practical tools that support lifelong oral health and healthier futures.
Gifts for this campaign support the implementation of ChewFreeFuture programming, including:
- Faculty and student travel globally
- Room and board while on-site
- Local transportation to outreach locations
- Program coordination and educational activities
Your support helps prevent oral cancer before it begins, equips children with tools and knowledge they can use daily, and extends Howard University’s legacy of leadership and service around the world.
