The Howard University Class of 2006 is celebrating 20 years with purpose, raising $750,000 and increasing alumni annual giving by 40%. Dr. Frederick’s 2025 State of the University address reminded us that giving is not just tradition. It is survival. It is self-determination. Howard’s plans to continue to expand and modernize student housing, classrooms, and hospital facilities which depends on the generosity of those who understand what this institution has poured into America and the global community. More than 80 percent of the University’s revenue still comes from federal sources, which we see it can be reduced or delayed at any moment. Our giving is how we protect Howard’s independence and grown the university endowment.

Dr. Frederick said it best: “If we get dollars from people who have nothing to do with our institution, but who have the means, then we have to ensure that those of us who have benefited from the education are just as interested in the institution.”

So, for those who ask why we give, this is why. For those who doubt what we can do, we show them. By increasing our participation by 70 percent, we will show that the Class of 2006 is still building the legacy and still answering the call to serve.

At our 10-year reunion, we raised $90,000 - an incredibly exciting goal to reach at our first major milestone reunion year. We also continue to be inspired and motivated by our class groups and look forward to continuing the collective legacy of the classes of the early 2000s!

We are incredibly motivated to reach a nearly million-dollar class donation for Alma Mater. The math makes it possible, but our belief makes it inevitable.
