π» COLLEGE & CAREERS: Laptops for Transitions to College and Careers Participants
$2,500 - 5 New Chromebooks
Transition to College & Careers (TCC) is a free program offered both days and evenings, designed to help adult students prepare for college and identify a career path. This program offers students learning in time management, self-care, goal setting, effective study habits, self-advocacy, college navigation, problem solving, motivation, and basic technology.
To meet this promise, the program needs laptops for students to borrow empowering students to do their classwork. Laptops are crucial to ensuring all students have access to these learnings and outcomes.
Your gift helps provide students with:
- 5 new Chromebooks with carrying case just for TCC
- Access to technology currently unavailable to non-credit learners (library resources reserved for credit students)
βThe time at TCC is invaluable. Many of the students we serve have just completed a HISET or an English Speakers for Other Languages (ESOL) program. Many are learning how to use technology and also how to be a college student.β
βCrysta Ascolillo, Career and Educational Advisor (ABE/Transition to College & Careers)
The Impact:
- Allow HCC to have enough resources to meet our students' needs, allowing them to not have to borrow or spend money on a laptop
- Students have the tools necessary to feel confident and achieve academic self-sufficiency
- Modern technology to support the Cohort style courses offered (English & Math)
Through Transition to College and Careers, we're not just supporting future students β we're developing new scholars and building their confidence to reach their goals.
