🥬ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE: Get hydroponics systems in environmental science students’ hands

$2,800 – Four 20-Plant Hydroponic Tower: complete growing modular system. PETG Food-Grade System with Pump

Adding a Hydroponics system to our on-campus greenhouse will allow students to gain the experience of growing their own herbs and plants, which will directly benefit HCC’s Culinary Arts Institute. This partnership will not just show students how rewarding growing your own food can be, but also give them a perspective on sustainable farming practices and a glimpse into the future of agriculture.

Your gift helps students:

  • Receive FOUR Hydroponic Systems
  • Learn about green energy and preserving land
  • Enhance their problem solving
  • Learning in conjunction with STEM programs

“This is the first step in transforming a portion of the existing greenhouse into a hydroponic system to produce plants and herbs for the HCC culinary program. This is just the beginning. Our vision includes creating a fully handicapped accessible greenhouse large enough to accommodate traditional and hydroponic plant systems."
- Heather Ruel (Adjunct Faculty)

The Impact:

Hydroponics shows students how to measure accurately and record data results, valuable skills in any science that will catapult HCC students into the next steps of their studies.
