Hillsdale Homestead

The Hillsdale Homestead is a student-run farm located 10 minutes from central campus on college-owned property. The Hillsdale student volunteers dedicate themselves to continuing their education through physical labor, learning to care for chickens and bees, grow produce, and harvest the fruits of their labor to be brought to market on campus.

Many students see this work as a vessel through which they may glorify God and benefit spiritually as well as mentally and physically, ultimately becoming the laboratory for their liberal arts education.

This group’s goals are to expand operations by raising additional livestock, growing produce year-round (despite the cold weather), and optimizing volunteer hours by upgrading tools and equipment.

With the Hillsdale College community’s interest in the Hillsdale Homestead growing rapidly, so does the group’s need for resources.
