VISION: The Emerson "Emmy" Sigtryggsson Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to students who have demonstrated a need for supplemental funding due to family hardships (especially illness) or unexpected financial circumstances, which would otherwise prevent them from being able to return to Hillsdale College.
PURPOSE: The Legacy Board chose this gift, on behalf of the Class of 2026, in memory of their classmate, Emmy Sigtryggsson. It is their hope that this scholarship will be emblematic of the Legacy of humility and sacrifice that Emmy left, not only on her fellow classmates, but also on all those whose paths crossed with hers.
