HST Library Addition

The Harding School of Theology Library Addition will expand biblical scholarship resources and enrich preparation for ministry. This project creates space for research, collaboration and deeper study of Scripture, serving students, faculty and church leaders. Your gift strengthens Harding’s mission to equip those who will teach, shepherd and serve the Church for generations to come.

The theology library addition will be completed in spring 2026 and will span 18,000 square feet across two levels. With a $8.5 million investment, the space is designed to serve students 86 hours each week. It will be staffed by a full-time theological librarian and a full-time archivist, ensuring expert support for research and discovery. The facility will feature open, browsable stacks for the full HST collection, a comprehensive reference collection on the first floor, multiple study areas and a dedicated study room reserved for HST students. Climate-controlled archival storage will preserve the HST Archives for generations to come.

• It will take an estimated 30 semitrailer loads to move the shelving and books from Memphis to Searcy.
  
• The collection contains nearly 123,000 books and almost 7,000 bound periodical volumes, nearly doubling the size of the current collection.
