HSU Cycling is entering its second season as one of Hardin‑Simmons University’s newest and fastest‑growing varsity programs. Launched in 2024 through the vision and generosity of alumnus Mike McMaude, the team quickly made its mark—highlighted by an individual conference road championship in its inaugural season. With multiple riders set to compete in 2025, the program continues to expand its presence in collegiate cycling.
The team trains and competes year‑round across the nation, racing mountain biking in the fall, road events in the spring, and a variety of disciplines in between. Just as importantly, HSU Cycling is committed to serving the Big Country’s thriving cycling community—building trails, supporting youth riders, and partnering in local events to grow the sport they love.
