The Creative Writing Program is seeking to raise $20,000 for operational costs associated with production of the Water~Stone Review and other bold new initiatives around community engaged media/publishing and the literary arts. Water~Stone Review is an award-winning, nationally recognized literary print journal produced in collaboration with Hamline University’s Creative Writing MFA Program. One of the oldest active journals in the state, Water~Stone Review has featured over one thousand emerging and established writers (and photographers) from all over the world for twenty eight years. It is both the flagship of a proud Midwestern literary tradition and a celebrated space for new voices and form. As a publishing lab for the graduate students, Water~Stone Review’s core tenant is to cultivate considerate editors and has done so with hundreds of students who have gone on to successfully work in or establish their own presses, journals, and other publishing focused collaboratives.

If the funding is not significant enough to sustain publication beyond one year, donations to this campaign will go toward enhancing the initiatives of community-engaged media/publishing and the literary arts as they align with the ethos of Water~Stone Review.
