The new Gustavus Wind Orchestra (Gustavus Band) Commission Fund is vital for the growth of our concert band program, as it will allow students to experience the creation and performance of new music. A new commission fund will bring living composers into our educational process, offering Gusties direct insight into modern artistic intent. Funding for new commissions will expand the wind band repertoire and will give Gustavus signature works that distinguish our band program from other colleges and universities. This New Commission Fund will be a shared fund supporting both the Gustavus Band and the Gustavus Symphony Orchestra.
