The new Gustavus Symphony Orchestra (GSO) Commission Fund is vital for the growth of our symphony orchestra program as it will allow students to experience the creation and performance of new music. A new commission fund will bring living composers into our educational process, offering Gusties direct insight into modern artistic intent. Funding for new commissions will expand the undergraduate symphony orchestra repertoire and will give Gustavus signature works that distinguish our orchestra program from other colleges and universities. This New Commission Fund will be a shared fund supporting both the Gustavus Symphony Orchestra and the Gustavus Band.
