Service, Impact, & Campus Culture

Student organizations focused on service & community impact bring people together to give back, whether through volunteer projects, charity drives, or partnerships with local nonprofits. Your support during Student Philanthropy Week helps fuel initiatives that make a real difference both on campus and in the surrounding community.

Alternative Breaks ✈️

A volunteer organization that promotes active citizenship by planning service trips during spring break. They also host local events with community partners to help connect students to the West Michigan area and build a sense of belonging in the club.

Alpha Sigma Alpha 👯‍♀️

Alpha Sigma Alpha is a values-based sorority focused on sisterhood, leadership, scholarship, and service. The organization provides members with opportunities to grow personally and professionally while building lifelong friendships and making a positive impact in their communities. Alpha will be raising funds to support their chapter and strengthen the sisterhood we share through events and community activities.

Arab Culture Club 🌏

A student-led organization dedicated to promoting awareness, appreciation, and understanding of Arab culture on campus. Fundraising will support social gatherings, film festivals, and other cultural activities.

Beekeepers Club 🐝

Founded in 2011, this club engages students in honey production, hive care, and environmental research. Gifts to SAP support bee health and student engagement.

Euphoria A Cappella 🎤

A nationally recognized and award-winning a cappella group celebrating their 20th season. Gifts cover travel for performances, participation fees, and event costs.

Filipinx American Student Association 🇵🇭

Acknowledges the diversity and values of Filipino history while creating a space for members, friends, allies, and those interested in the Filipino community to connect and form long-lasting relationships. Gifts will support event planning for a Philippine Culture Night.

Herpetological Society 🦎

An organization for students who are interested in reptiles and amphibians. They provide students with hands-on experience working with herpetofauna and connect them with opportunities to get involved in their conservation. Gifts will support educational outreach efforts and access to general supplies for club members.

Monarcas Ballet Folklorico 💃

Their mission is to create a space to learn and appreciate Mexican Ballet Folklorico. They create a welcoming community for students through traditional dance, music, and performances. Gifts will support the purchase of traditional attire.

Plant Club 🪴

Provides a space for students to build connections with peers who share an interest in plants. Gifts will help cover event costs, workshop supplies, and plant materials.

Rotaract Club 🫶

A community-focused volunteer organization dedicated to service, leadership, and fellowship. Gifts support supplies for service projects and event materials.

Sigma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Omicron (KAO) 🌿

KAO is the undergraduate environmental honors society at GVSU. KAO aims to be a platform for academically exceptional students with a passion for the environment to engage in stewardship activities throughout the semester. Gifts support on-campus events.

South Asian Student Association 🌸

Celebrates cultural events, histories, and cuisines while spreading awareness of South Asian cultures. Gifts support events and programming.

Provides professional learning experiences through meetings, events, and immersive experiences. They work to advocate for individuals with exceptionalities and promote inclusion for all.

Hosts regular sustainability workshops and events that are open to anyone wanting to learn how to live a more earth-friendly lifestyle. Programming also includes networking and volunteer opportunities. Gifts support their events.
