The goal of my project is to build a shed at a domestic violence and housing insecure shelter in my area. Along with providing the shelter with a storage shed my troop will learn how to use tools and the struggles people in our community face. The current shed was vandalized and partially destroyed so the shelter is in great need of a new shed.

On Wednesday my Troop and I finished building our shed. It looks absolutely gorgeous, on Saturday we are going back to paint it and I will update you with pictures then!

I have done lots of work on my Gold Award Already!
I have trained my Girl Scout troop on how to safely use tools in preparation for the shed build. They now know how to use screw guns, hammers, levels, and rulers.
I have also volunteered at the shelter I am serving, I organized their storage closet where they keep sanitary products and bedding. I hope to go back soon and help them out more before we build the shed.
