Service Unit 70-06 SHARE Campaign 2021

100% of $2,628 goal
This campaign ended on July 31, 2021, but you can still make a gift to Girl Scouts Nation's Capital Annual Giving by clicking here!

SHARE is the way Girl Scout friends & family make Girl Scouting possible for all girls.

Our Service Unit is raising money for SHARE, Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital annual family giving campaign. SHARE provides critical funding for financial assistance, camps, volunteer support, and programs. We’ve loved our Girl Scout experience and we want to make sure every girl can be a Girl Scout! Will you make a contribution and help us reach our SHARE goal? Every size gift makes a difference!

It is my absolute pleasure to announce that we have reached our SHARE goal for this year!  We received an anonymous donation this morning to get us to our goal of $2,628!!!

Words cannot express how grateful we are to have had the Service Unit’s support! With 57 donations, we have had more donations than ever before.  Whether you:

  • Donated to the crowdfunding page;
  • Bought a SHARE t-shirt;
  • Sponsored a SHARE event with your troop;
  • Donated some of your troop funds;
  • Attended a SHARE event; or
  • Donated through a SHARE envelope…

…we couldn’t have done it without you! This year was particularly challenging, with social distancing requirements due to COVID and some troops still meeting virtually, but we did it! Through your efforts and financial support you have made a difference to girls in our community that will now be able to be Girls Scouts, participate in activities, receive a uniform, and attend summer camp. It just goes to show that when we work together we can accomplish anything!

Thank you to Troop 70140

At their recent Bridging Ceremony, Troop 70140 presented a check for $50 to the Service Unit to support SHARE! Special thanks to Monica Greene who represented the Service Unit Team at this important occasion. And thank you to the girls of Troop 70140 for choosing SHARE as one of the things to support with their troop funds. Thanks to your support, we can make sure every girl who wants to be a Girl Scout in our community can be!

Troops Team up for Change Collection!

Ambassador Troop 1420 and Senior Troop 6287 combined their efforts for their Scouting for Change event on May 22. They collected change at their drive through event, rolled coins, and flagged cars, raising over $330 for SHARE! They had some great supporters stop by, including Girl Scout Legend Sarah Phillips (aka Sunny). We're getting so close to our SHARE goal!

Trivia Afternoon and Paint Night were super fun!

Thank you to Troop 2486 who hosted a Trivia Afternoon fundraiser for the Service Unit on April 19th. We even had some Girl Scout trivia to answer! We hope you'll do it again next year and even more Scouts will participate!

Thank you also to Troop 70019, and local artist Yufen Zha, for the Mother's Day Paint Night on May 4th. It was a great activity for Scouts of all ages, and it was so nice to have something homemade to give for Mother's Day. We truly appreciate the $250 donation to SHARE!

Troops like yours are why we're going to make our SHARE goal this year!

T-Shirt Sale a Success!

We raised over $200 for SHARE! Thank you to everyone who ordered a t-shirt, and especially Lizzy Hill who came up with our great design. Can't wait to see them out in the community! Remember...Girl Scouts Can't Be Quarantined!

Thank You to Troop 2486!

Special thanks to Cadette Troop 2486 who created a SHARE video for our Crowdfunding site. If you're not sure what SHARE is, just watch their explanation and learn. We are so grateful that the Scouts (and their families) in our Service Unit are so supportive of our SHARE fundraising!

Let's Wish Juliette Gordon Low a Happy Birthday!

As many of you know, Juliette Gordon Low’s birthday is on Halloween. If she were still alive today (wouldn’t that be awesome?!) she would be celebrating her 160th birthday! Therefore, I challenge our Service Unit families to raise $160 by October 31st. No donation is too small! That’s just 16 families that need to donate $10 to reach our goal of $160! And just a reminder, to please be sure to credit your troop with your donation.
