About

Every year, the Girl Scout Council and Troop Leaders recognize girls who have earned the highest awards: the Gold Award, Silver Trefoil Award, Silver Award, and Bronze Award. All of these awards give Girl Scouts the chance to do big things while working on an issue that they are passionate about. As you know, to earn one of these awards takes time and determination from your daughter, her Troop Leader, and yourself. We are so proud to recognize 705 girls who earned the Silver Award, 187 girls who earned the Silver Trefoil Award, and 201 girls who earned the Gold Award. It is also a pleasure to share that within the last year over 1,000 Bronze Award pins have been purchased by Troop Leaders to recognize their Girl Scouts who earned their Bronze Award.

The Highest Awards program is designed to help girls reach their full potential through a menu of awards. Higher Awards begins with earning the Bronze Award as a Junior Girl Scout (grades 4-5), which requires 20 hours of a local take-action project. Next, girls complete a community service project that totals a minimum of 50 hours to earn the Silver Award as a Cadette Girl Scout (grades 6-8). Girl Scouts can pursue the Gold Award and/or the Silver Trefoil as a Senior (grades 9-10) or Ambassador (grades 11-12). The Silver Trefoil is awarded to girls who dedicate 100 hours or more of service to their communities and is unique to our Council. The Gold Award โ€“ the PhD in Girl Scouts -- is the most prestigious award a girl can earn and is the pinnacle of the Girl Scout experience. Both awards result in leading change in their community and beyond.

While earning the highest awards, girls understand project planning and management; leadership; problem solving; marketing/communications; and, most importantly, learn to have the confidence to become an expert on a community issue they want to solve.

Please consider making a donation to our annual family campaign, SHARE, that supports the Highest Awards by using the QR code below. When making your gift, you can also recognize your daughterโ€™s Troop Leader, who has worked tirelessly to support your daughterโ€™s goals of reaching the higher awards. Help us support everything that SHARE supports and, in particular, building the pipeline for girls to earn their higher awards.
