About

Do you remember the moment when someone gave you a chance? Saw your raw potential? Chose to invest in you? Today, a world-class education is expensive and involves many aspects of a university experience. Not every future leader has the same opportunity to study at an institution like GW. But we can help. Your donation to student support gives students the freedom to take advantage of the unique opportunities they have at GW. Now is your moment to give someone a chance.

Priorities

Student Aid

This fund, the premier way to support GW student aid, provides need-based support to undergraduate students in all schools on campus. Over 40 percent of students who apply to GW say that affordability is a factor in their final college decision. Supporting scholarships opens the door for talented students who may think a GW education is financially out of reach.

Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund

One of the most powerful elements of a GW education is the opportunity to intern with the many national and international organizations located in DC. Some students face the impossible choice of taking a life-changing unpaid internship or having to work to support themselves. Giving to the Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund relieves that financial burden and allows students to take advantage of the only-at-GW opportunity they have to intern in the nation’s capital.

Diversity Equity and Community Engagement

This fund supports GW's Office for Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement (ODECE) to plan and provide cultural programming for students. In addition, the fund will support university-wide diversity, equity and inclusion events. Programming will include educational opportunities for students to increase awareness of social, economic, and political issues from an intersectional lens. (e.g., poverty, immigration, the environment, incarceration, racism, anti-Semitism, sexism, ableism, and much more) Invited speakers will share information, cultivate a space of learning, and increase opportunities to engage in meaningful dialogue.
