In January of the new year, the Fordham University Men's Rugby Team will be traveling to Ireland on the club’s first international tour in over 50 years. The squad will travel with 30 players, as we tour across a country filled with rich rugby history to not only improve our exposure to the game, but to truly challenge ourselves against tough opponents. Over the course of the 10 day tour, we plan on traveling to three different cities: Dublin, Galway, and Cork, so we may fully experience everything Ireland has to offer both on the pitch and off. From matches versus renowned men’s clubs, to training sessions with top international coaches, to transport and accommodation fees, there is a substantial amount of money which we have to raise as a whole.

That being said, we are currently raising money for our once-in-a-lifetime rugby tour, and are asking for your help. The cost of the trip will be roughly $2300 per player, and through various fundraising avenues we hope to cut those costs as much as possible. As we continue to fundraise through various events over the next few months (advertised on our club Instagram @fordhamrugby), we would like to open a donation portal through Fordham to promote our unique tour.

Fordham Rugby aims to keep registration fees, playing and travel expenses as reasonable as possible for current players to promote activate participation and love for the game.

Donation funds are used across all facets of the program and your additional financial support helps cover such essentials as well as assist in helping us compete in our 2020 Ireland Tour:

  • $19.62 Provides a day of player meals for our 2020 Ireland Tour    
  • $25 provides practice kit for one player
  • $50 Custom Gilbert Fordham Rugby Match Ball
  • $100 supplies a full week’s worth of training camp meals for a player
  • $196.20 Provides a week of player meals for our 2020 Ireland Tour
  • $250 provides hotel lodging for eight players at regional tournaments or away matches.  
  • $400 covers a players membership dues for the club
  • $1,000 secures flights for 2 players to National Championships and/or Qualifiers
  • $1,962 covers one player's entire financial obligation to participate in FURFC's 2020 Ireland Tour
  • $2,500 covers D1A Rugby Membership Fee
  • $3,000 provides brand new kit, including jerseys and shorts
  • $5,500 covers a brand new Rhino Rugby Scrum Sled, a much needed purchase for the program.
  • $10,000 provides coaching salaries for the staff of three coaches. 

Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated by the team, our coaches, and all of those in our club’s 57 year history who have raised the performance and platform of our team so that we may have opportunities such as these.
